ESPN Executive Jason Bernstein Joins TIA Board of Directors

Jason Bernstein, senior director of programming and acquisitions at ESPN, is the newest member of the Tennis Industry Association’s Board of Directors. Bernstein oversees digital media programming content acquisitions and scheduling for ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network, ESPN3, and its authenticated networks service, WatchESPN. He is also responsible for the content acquisition and scheduling strategy for ESPN’s tennis business.

Davenport, Bollettieri Lead 2014 Hall of Fame Inductee Class

Former world No. 1 and 6-time Grand Slam champion Lindsay Davenport has been selected for induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Joining Davenport in the Class of 2014 will be legendary tennis coach Nick Bollettieri, 5-time Paralympic medalist Chantal Vandierendonck, Jane Brown Grimes, who has held executive leadership roles with the WTA, USTA, and the International Tennis Hall of Fame; and British tennis broadcaster and author John Barrett.

USTA Names Davis Cup Team

The USTA and U.S. Davis Cup Captain Jim Courier announced that top-ranked American and world No. 13 John Isner, world No. 51 Sam Querrey and the world’s No. 1 doubles team of Bob Bryan and Mike Bryan will represent the United States in the 2014 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas First Round tie against Great Britain. The best-of-five rubber series will be played on a temporary clay court in left field at Petco Park in San Diego January 31-February 2.

Racquet Sports Industry Names ‘30 Under 30’

Racquet Sports Industry (RSI), the world’s largest tennis trade publication, released its “30 Under 30” list of young professionals in the tennis industry in the November/December 2013 issue. The list contains 30 extraordinary individuals under age 30 who work in all segments of the tennis industry.
