Using TIA Research to Boost Your Biz

Like any business, you need to use all the tools you have to get ahead, including industry research, such as the recently released 2013 edition of the “State of the Industry” report. Tennis Continues to Lead Pack Among Traditional Sports In Participation Growth

In the recently released US Sports, Fitness, and Recreation Participation Report from the Physical Activity Council (PAC) — a consortium of six sports, recreation, and outdoor trade associations — despite fluctuating participation trends among traditional sports, tennis continues to lead the pack in long-term participation growth, which is up 31% from 2000-2012. 

PAC Study Shows Growth In Cardio Tennis

Cardio Tennis participation grew  and frequent player play occasions were up nearly 2%, while overall tennis participation remained flat, according to the Physical Activity Council's  (PAC) Annual U.S. Participation in Sports, Fitness, and Recreation report. The study, which surveys participation across 125 different sports, fitness and leisure activities, is the nation’s largest report on physical activity. The survey, conducted online with a sample size of more than 40,000, is supported by six sports, fitness, and recreation trade organizations.

Tennis providers, boost your business by hosting a Tennis Festival in the month of March, designed to get kids active and excited about tennis. Tennis Festivals are a way for tennis facilities, parks, and municipalities to introduce tennis to kids and provide a platform to register children for spring and summer programs. The events provide an opportunity for kids to experience a variety of tennis activities and games designed for all ages and skill levels.

Host a Family Tennis Championships Event at Your Facility

There’s a new tennis tournament that doubles as family time. The 2013 National Family Tennis Championships offers thousands of amateur players across America the opportunity to team up with a family member to earn the right to play for a national title in New York City from Aug. 22 to 26.  Tennis facilities interested in being one of the 300 host sites have until February 28 to sign-up.

BNP PARIBAS SHOWDOWN AT MADISON SQUARE GARDEN ON MARCH 4, 2013 WILL BE PART OF INAUGURAL WORLD TENNIS DAY

New York, NY (January 3, 2013) – The BNP Paribas Showdown brings tennis back to Madison Square Garden for the sixth time on March 4 featuring Grand Slam champions Serena Williams, Victoria Azarenka, Juan Martin del Potro and Rafael Nadal. Once again, the event will headline a full day of nationwide activities as part of Tennis Night in America, but in 2013, the BNP Paribas Showdown will also be part of a global tennis participation effort on the inaugural World Tennis Day.
