10 and Under Tennis hits Pelham, Ala.

The USTA Pro Circuit’s $25,000 women’s event in Pelham, which is part of greater Birmingham (a local investment market), treated several hundred kids to 10 and Under Tennis demonstrations and clinics -- both at the Valley Intermediate School and at the Pelham Racquet Club.  Professional players also joined in the fun and offered tips on how to get started using the smaller, modified equipment.  They also discussed the benefits of playing the sport at a young age and how the 10 and Tennis initiative is making that possible. 

USTA Pro Circuit Introduces 10 and Under Tennis Legacy Program

In a collaboration between the Professional and Community Tennis divisions of the USTA a new program launched this year will provide grants to Pro Circuit sites that actively promote the 10 and Under Tennis format at their events, and whose facilities make programming available to the community.  A primary goal of the legacy program is for tennis communities in the Pro Circuit markets to benefit from the tournaments throughout the year with enhanced support of grassroots programs.

WORLD TEAMTENNIS PRO LEAGUE RELEASES 2012 SCHEDULE

NEW YORK, N.Y. (March 7, 2012) – The 2012 World TeamTennis Pro League schedule kicks off on Monday, July 9, with the defending champion Washington Kastles vying to continue their 16-match winning streak that started last summer, as they face off against the Orange Country Breakers in Irvine, Calif.  League officials today released the 59-match schedule for the three-week regular season of the WTT Pro League presented by GEICO, which runs July 9-28 and concludes with the WTT Finals Weekend, Sept. 14-16 in Charleston, S.C.
