Tennis Providers, Host a Kids 'Tennis Festival' in March

Tennis providers, boost your business by hosting a Tennis Festival in the month of March, designed to get kids active and excited about tennis. Tennis Festivals are a way for tennis facilities, parks, and municipalities to introduce tennis to kids and provide a platform to register children for spring and summer programs. The events provide an opportunity for kids to experience a variety of tennis activities and games designed for all ages and skill levels.

TIA Aligns with Sports & Fitness Coalition to Announce PHIT America

This month, leading sports and fitness industry companies and organizations, as well as other corporate partners, will launch PHIT America, a year-round, educational, advocacy, and social media marketing campaign designed to reach millions of Americans. PHIT America will combat the obesity and sedentary activity crisis -- which is having an adverse effect on health care costs in the U.S. -- by promoting new legislation and grassroots programs that will help get Americans more active, playing more sports, getting fit and becoming healthier.

Cardio Tennis 2012: A Year in Review

This past year has seen exciting developments in the Cardio Tennis program. New technologies and tools have been added to the program offering to help tennis businesses create even more revenue, as well as welcome more people to tennis.  Hundreds of new coaches, both in the United States and globally have attended training courses to become Licensed Cardio Tennis professionals. As we look back on our progress for 2012 we are pleased with the growth in the program in other countries and at home, yet we realize there are many opportunities to further enhance Cardio Tennis and we will continue to work on building upon the successes of the past seven years.

Cardio Tennis Continues to Grow, Benefiting Consumers and Providers

TIA Cardio Tennis Manager Michele Krause just finished running an afternoon of Cardio Tennis sessions at the grand opening celebration of the Montgomery TennisPlex in Boyds, Md., outside of Washington, D.C. She finally has a moment to relax before heading to California for the USPTA World Conference, where she and some of the National Cardio Tennis Speakers Team members will put on morning clinics for the attendees and offer a presentation to USPTA pros.

SGMA To Change Name to Sports & Fitness Industry Association

The Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association (SGMA) plans to change its name to the Sports & Fitness Industry Association (SFIA) as part of a new branding effort. The rebranding process is a reflection of a multi-year strategic planning process that includes a disciplined focus on its core offerings: member services; thought leadership & events; public & industry affairs; and research insights.

TRX Cardio Tennis Session in Florida Features Bollettieri

Tennis coach Nick Bollettieri spoke to participants at the TRX Cardio Tennis Pilot Training Course held at IMG Academies in Bradenton, Fla., July 21-22. The legendary coach, who will be inducted into the Tennis Industry Hall of Fame on Aug. 24 in New York, talked to attendees about how a healthy lifestyle and exercise promotes longevity and slows down the aging process.
