Cardio Tennis Receives NASM Accreditation

Certified Fitness professionals who participate in and complete a seven hour Cardio Tennis Training can now receive Continuing Education Units from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. With this announcement, Cardio Tennis becomes the first tennis oriented programs to receive continuing education accreditation by the NASM, which has been the global leader in delivering evidenced-based certifications and advanced credentials to health and fitness professionals since 1987.

"Cardio Tennis and the NASM are a natural fit," says TIA Global Cardio Tennis Manager, Michele Krause. "When we deliver training courses across the U.S. and internationally one of our key focuses is on educating tennis and fitness professionals on how to create healthier lifestyles for their clients through the Cardio Tennis program."

A corner-stone of the Cardio Tennis program is training in one's target heart-rate zone for an extended period of time, maximizing the cardiovascular benefits of the workout. "It takes someone with the proper knowledge and skill set to be able to effectively monitor a class of 8 or more Cardio Tennis participants to make sure they are training in their appropriate heart-rate zones," Krause adds.

"Accreditation by the NASM of our Cardio Tennis Training courses is a huge step in continuing to bring Cardio Tennis into the fitness arena," says TIA Executive Director Jolyn de Boer. "This accreditation is a testament to the appeal of the program outside the realm of tennis and we are continuously working to promote the health benefits of tennis and Cardio Tennis."

Cardio Tennis continues to bridge the gap between the tennis and fitness world, helping promote the game of tennis as a pathway to an healthy and active lifestyle. With the launch of TRX Cardio Tennis the program is reaching even deeper into the fitness world and encouraging those who typically find their best work out in the gym to hit the courts. The TRX Cardio Tennis course is accredited by the following organizations and offers the following continuing education credits:  American Council on Exercise (ACE) (0.8 CECs), Aerobics and Fitness Association of American (AFAA) (7 CECs), CanFitPro (4 CECs), NASM (0.7 CECs), and Personal  Training Academy (PTA) Global (7 CECs).

Certified Tennis professionals who complete a Cardio Tennis Training Course or TRX Cardio Tennis Training course can also receive 5 MAP points from the PTR and 4 CEU's from the USPTA.
