TIA Tennis Forum in New Location: Intercontinental New York Barclay

The 10th Annual Tennis Industry Association (TIA) Tennis Forum on Monday, Aug. 28, will be at a new hotel this year: the Intercontinental New York Barclay at Lexington Avenue and 49th Street. The Forum, and subsequent sessions for the Future of Tennis & Tech event on Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning, will be in the Grand Ballroom at the Intercontinental. Visit TennisIndustry.org.

Physical Activity by U.S. Kids Takes a Dive

The just-completed 2017 PHIT America ‘Inactivity Pandemic’ Report reveals some deep concerns about physical inactivity in the U.S. While ‘casual’ participation is up for many sports activities and adult inactivity trends may be flattening, the trends for children are quite alarming. Children who are active in aerobic activities has declined more in the past year than any in recent times. 

Youth Tennis, Cardio Tennis Shine In Latest Participation Report

Among the bright spots in the most recent annual tennis participation study by the Physical Activity Council is a 7.2 percent increase in youth tennis players and a 16.7 percent increase in Cardio Tennis players over the past year. 

TIA Tennis Forum to Highlight Research, Consumer Trends, Tech

The 10th Annual Tennis Industry Association Tennis Forum will be held in New York City on Monday, Aug. 28, the first day of play at the US Open. This year’s Forum—along with related industry meetings—will be held at a new location: the Intercontinental New York Barclay, which is at Lexington Avenue and 49th Street and is the official hotel of the ATP Tour.
