Tennis coaching legend Nick Bollettieri was the fifth person to be inducted into the Tennis Industry Hall of Fame, in a ceremony that took place recently in New York City, just before the start of the US Open tennis tournament. Bollettieri, one of the world’s most famous coaches, was honored for his significant impact on tennis.

LONDON (June 19, 2012)— ATP Executive Chairman and President Brad Drewett recently announced several promotions at the ATP executive level. The promotions are across a variety of departments and regions, and see existing staff members Mark Young, Laurent Delanney and Andre Silva assume significant additional responsibilities within the company. Alison Lee also expands her role within the International Group region.
Former USTA Executive Director Lee Hamilton of Dallas passed away on June 15. Hamilton served a variety of roles at the community and section levels, and was a former president of the USTA Texas Section. He was executive director of USTA national from 2003 to 2007.
The International Tennis Hall of Fame presented the 2011 Samuel Hardy and Tennis Educational Merit Awards on Saturday, March 17 during the International Tennis Hall of Fame Annual Awards Luncheon, which was held in conjunction with the USTA Annual Meeting in Carlsbad, Calif.
At the recent PTR Symposium, the Professional Tennis Registry announced Jorge Andrew has been named President of its Board of Directors for a three-year term. Andrew, who accepted the reins from outgoing President Jean Mills, is the first Latino to serve as President of a major tennis organization in the U.S.
Cardio Tennis Manager Michele Krause of University Park, Fla., was presented with the PTR/TIA Commitment to the Industry Award during the Professional Tennis Registry’s annual International Tennis Symposium, held Feb. 24-28 at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress in Orlando, Fla.
The Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association appointed Ron Rosenbaum to its management team. As SGMA’s senior vice president of marketing & business development, Rosenbaum will provide direction and oversight to marketing, fundraising, membership and program development.
