Top Tennis Execs to Present Latest Plans, Research at TIA Tennis Forum, Aug. 29

Top tennis executives will present the latest research and share plans for growing this industry at the ninth annual TIA Tennis Forum, which will be Monday, Aug. 29, from 8:30 to 10 a.m. at the Grand Hyatt New York City. The Tennis Forum is free to attend, but space is limited so attendees should register at TennisIndustry.org/forum.

Tennis Participation and ‘Play Occasions’ Increase in the U.S in 2015

The number of people playing tennis in the U.S. and the number of tennis “play occasions” increased in 2015, according to the latest figures released by the Tennis Industry Association (TIA) and U.S. Tennis Association (USTA), which were part of the Physical Activity Council (PAC) Annual Participation Study.

'Rally the Family' Tennis Campaign Update

This November and December, the USTA is spearheading the testing of “Rally the Family” messaging in selected markets across the country. The nationwide campaign is scheduled to roll out to consumers in March. Rally the Family focuses on tennis for all ages, using lower compression Red, Orange and Green tennis balls, shorter courts, shorter racquets and modified scoring, along with a focus on family spending time together in fun and healthy activities.

TIA Conducting Annual Tennis Facility, Business and Retail Census

Verifying your facility, business and retail information for the industry’s annual census is an important activity of the TIA to keep current information on courts, program, retail and more. A “snapshot” of information was delivered to industry inboxes this week. For providers of programs, the information helps supply consumer search websites including PlayTennis.com, YouthTennis.com, CardioTennis.com and more.

‘Rally the Family’ Campaign Prep Under Way for Spring Consumer Launch

Plans for “Rally the Family,” a new industry-wide campaign announced during the US Open that is designed to bring more players into the sport of tennis, continue to be refined in preparation for testing in select markets this fall and winter. The new family tennis initiative is expected to be rolled out to consumers in March.

‘Play Tennis Fast’ Offers Perfect Intro for Adults

One of the programs designed to bring adults into the game—and perfect for the Rally the Family campaign—is Play Tennis Fast (PTF), which is designed as six one-hour "Play To Learn” group socials that use low-compression ROG balls and shorter courts to introduce or welcome back adult players to tennis.
