Cliff Drysdale Management, the tennis management company, has partnered with the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch to offer a new elite tennis management training program, Professional Tennis U (PTU). Beginning in 2019, chosen candidates will be selected for an immersive experience in tennis programming, marketing and media, human resources, finance and much more.
Professional Tennis U will see trainees receive 1200+ hours of on court coaching experience, all while refining their education, knowledge and skills through daily coursework, seminars and planning sessions taught by tennis industry leaders and guest speakers. Upon successful completion of the 12-month program, participants will receive sponsored United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) certification as well as job offer assurance at CDM and Troon managed locations.
"Training quality tennis professionals is absolutely essential to not only our success, but to the growth of tennis," said Don Henderson, CEO and President of Cliff Drysdale Management. "We believe Professional Tennis U will develop the very best foundation for successful careers in tennis management going forward."
The program is unique in its opportunity for participants to experience a wide array of tennis programming and clientele. At the John Newcombe Tennis Ranch, trainees will work with high performance academy students as well as adult and junior tennis camps. Next door at the John Newcombe Country Club, they will work with a strong adult and junior membership base. Trainees will also learn from a variety of expert seminars, group collaborations and guest speakers.
Cliff Drysdale Management was acquired by sports management company Troon® in July of 2018, and a strong employee growth pathway is now available for talented individuals.
