The United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) was awarded three trophies at the 39th Annual Telly Awards for their USPTA For All Campaign. The Telly Awards honors excellence in video and television across all screens and it is judged by leaders from video platforms, television and streaming networks, agencies, and production companies including Vice, Vimeo, Hearst Digital Media, and BuzzFeed.
The TIA’s Spring/Summer Webinar Learning Series will continue into June with educational webinars that touch on many segments of the tennis industry. A number of the webinar topics for this series have been adapted from presentations at the Tennis Owners & Managers Conference that was held in Charleston, S.C., this past April. The past year’s Webinar Learning Series, which also followed the TOM Conference, generated nearly 1500 registrations.
In its ongoing effort to educate and enlighten the U.S. about the dangers of physical inactivity, PHIT America, the charity and campaign created by tennis industry veteran Jim Baugh, is giving the American general public the chance to be a part of the solution with its first National Fundraising & Awareness Campaign. And, everyone in the tennis industry can help.
The USTA announced that it will partner with the American Tennis Association (ATA) to host the 101st ATA National Championships at the USTA National Campus in Orlando, Fla., July 28-Aug 4. The annual week-long event will host more than 2,500 participants and visitors.
The TIA’s sixth annual Tennis Owners & Managers (TOM) Conference is scheduled for Jan. 23-25 in Orlando, Fla. In an expanded format, the popular TOM Conference will have a special focus on facilities during a session at the USTA National Campus. It will also include a TIA Forum, the Tennis Industry Innovation Challenge, specialty courses, “TOM Talks,” presentations, interactive sessions and opportunities to network and share best practices. Following the success of the inaugural Next Gen ATP Finals in Milan in 2017, the second edition of the tournament, taking place at Fiera Milano from November 6-10, will continue to trial a best-of-five set format, shorter sets to 4 (tie-break at 3-All), No-Ad scoring, and No-Lets, the ATP announced on Tuesday at a press conference at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia in Rome.
