TIA, Manufacturers Oppose New Tariffs on Imported Goods

Earlier this month, the Trump Administration released a new round of proposed tariffs on an additional $200 billion worth of US imports from China. The list of proposed products to face a 10% tariff includes certain items of sports bags, hats, apparel and synthetic monofilament racquet strings. The Tennis Industry Association opposes this action as these tariffs will place undue financial stress on our manufacturers and the network of tennis retailers across the country. We're asking the U.S. Trade Representative to remove these products from the list.

The new “racquet & paddle sports” conference will include an added focus on facilities, innovation and technology. TIA Tennis Forum Set for Monday, Aug. 27, in NYC

Don’t miss the 11th annual Tennis Industry Association Tennis Forum, which will be at the Grand Hyatt New York on Monday, Aug. 27, the first day of play at the US Open. The Forum will be from 8 to 9:30 a.m.

PHIT Act Passes the House, Now Moves to Senate

In a major step to help overcome the “Inactivity Pandemic” and improve the health of Americans, the U.S. House of Representatives late this afternoon passed the Personal Health Investment Today (PHIT) Act by a bipartisan vote of 277-142. The PHIT Act now moves to the Senate for consideration.
