The USTA is leveraging its partnership with Nickelodeon, one of the largest cable TV networks capable of reaching children and their families, to promote and bring USTA Free Tennis Play Days to tennis sites across the country. These Free Tennis Play Days will be marketed as a part of and in conjunction with Nickelodeon's Worldwide Day of Play to be held on October 6 at Riverside Park in New York City, where the USTA's growing 10 and Under Tennis initiative will be featured.
Tennis facilities across the country are encouraged to sign up at YouthTennis.com to host a Free Tennis Play Day any day from September 1 to October 6, 2012. These events are for all ages and skill levels, and even parents are encouraged to participate.
Facilities hosting a USTA Free Tennis Play Day will receive a variety of benefits from participating in this national effort. First and foremost, facilities will be able to leverage the powerful Nickelodeon branding and logo on publicity materials to reach parents and kids. Nickelodeon will also be providing a significant amount of free publicity throughout September and early October to promote these events. In addition, host sites will have access to downloadable customizable posters, press release templates and an event "How-To" Guide to make the event successful.
Furthermore, the USTA will be leveraging the power of the US Open broadcast to drive consumers to the new YouthTennis.com site to search for events in their local area. By signing up as a host site, your facility can tap into this additional advertising stream for your business and help bring in a new audience. Host sites will also be able to promote the free one year USTA 10 and Under Junior Membership, or the exclusive USTA Junior Membership, which also includes a 2012 US Open hat.
For the first 2,000 USTA Free Tennis Play Days registered on YouthTennis.com, facilities may receive 50 copies of Bounce, the USTA's youth publication, and 50 magnetic photo frames.
