The Tennis Industry Association will be expanding its Tennis Owners & Managers (TOM) Conference in 2019, including an added focus on facilities, innovation and technology and a demo day at the USTA National Campus. The event will be in Orlando, Fla., Jan. 23 to 25.
For greater exposure and a wider audience, the format will include five educational tracks: Innovation & Technology; Facility Operations (including design, planning, lighting, etc.); Human & Professional Services (such as hiring and staffing); Event Management & Hospitality; and Membership, Marketing & Promotions (including digital marketing and social media). On-court sessions will be at the USTA National Campus at Lake Nona. Continuing education credits are available.
“The 2019 conference will combine the best features of the TIA’s TOM Conference with expanded content,” says TIA Executive Director Jolyn de Boer. “The USTA National Campus will host an on-site ‘Tennis & Innovation Experience,’ there will also be top speakers and presenters, plenty of networking opportunities, our popular ‘TOM Talk’ roundtable format, an Industry Forum, a product showcase arena and much more.” The conference also will include the fourth edition of the Tennis Industry Innovation Challenge.
The conference, which has yet to choose a formal name, will be targeted to tennis, racquet and paddle sports businesses including owners, managers, operators, general managers, manufacturers, retailers, organizations, athletic directors, decision makers/influencers, media, sports innovation & tech companies, VCs, and anyone who desires to improve their business and career in racquet sports.
