February 4, 2010 · 1 Comment

The Tennis Industry Association’s new online career development tool—CareersInTennis.com—is up and running, offering resources, development tools, networking opportunities and more, all designed to attract and help young talent find employment in all areas of the tennis business.

Careers In TennisOn CareersInTennis.com, students, recent college graduates and others can view open job opportunities and internship positions and link directly to the various sites. Resources on the site include information on tennis organizations and companies, links and information on universities that offer Professional Tennis Management programs, and access to numerous tennis industry job sites and career development tools. The site also has overviews of what types of jobs are available in the industry, along with descriptions, links and searches.

“We’re excited about the development of these tools and resources to focus attention on industry businesses, job opportunities and internships,” says TIA Executive Director Jolyn de Boer. “It’s important for the industry to highlight the opportunities available and the advantages to working in this trade sector. CareersInTennis.com is helping make those connections.”

Companies and organizations can create an account that allows them to post jobs and internships, whether paid or unpaid. Employers also can view resumes and can choose to accept online applications. They also have the opportunity to create a company profile so job-seekers can find out more about their organization. There are templates available for drafting emails, and a step-by-step guide for posting jobs.

“We already have hundreds of job listings on the site, and we hope job-seekers and employers will make CareersInTennis.com an essential tool in furthering their businesses, their careers and their goals—or in starting off on their careers in tennis,” says de Boer.

“We’ve seen many young leaders come out of the Tennis on Campus program,” says Glenn Arrington, the USTA’s national manager for the Tennis on Campus. “Now, with CareersInTennis.com, they have a great resource to help these exceptional students and recent grads find internships and jobs in the tennis industry, in meaningful positions that can help this sport grow.”

“The Intercollegiate Tennis Association is pleased to be partnering with the TIA to help create a bridge to internship and job opportunities in the tennis industry for collegiate varsity tennis players by connecting the ITA Career Central site to the TIA Careers in Tennis website,” says ITA Executive Director David Benjamin.

Those seeking jobs can register on the site for free, view available job openings, and post their resumes and cover letters. They also can set “job alerts” so they’re constantly updated about new postings.
