The deadline for two prestigious USTA awards is fast approaching. Applications for both the Community Tennis Association of the Year award and the Eve Kraft Community Service Award are due by Friday, June 25. Awards applications are available online at http://www.usta.com/GetInvolved/CTA.aspx.
The Community Tennis Association of the Year Award honors a CTA for outstanding service in growing and developing the sport of tennis in its community. The award recipient is selected from 17 nominees, one from each of the USTA sections, by a panel of USTA Community Tennis Association Committee members. The award will be presented in early 2011 at the USTA Community Tennis Development Workshop.
The Eve Kraft Community Service Award honors individuals for outstanding work in community tennis. The award, presented in early 2011 at the CTDW, honors those who have made significant contributions in developing community-based tennis programs through CTAs, community centers, schools, park and recreation agencies, and other local tennis providers. The award honors the memory and legacy of Eve Kraft, a visionary and pioneer in tennis education and development.
Award recipients for both awards will receive expense-paid trips to the 2011 Community Tennis Development Workshop (includes a complimentary registration to the Workshop, hotel accommodations, roundtrip airfare and presentation of the award during the awards banquet). All winners will be notified by telephone or mail at least one month prior to the Workshop.
Nominations for both awards must be completed online and received by June 25, 2010. For more information, visit usta.com or contact cta@usta.com.
