May is National Tennis Month!

May 11, 2010 · No Comments

As the warmer weather starts to envelop more parts of country, May is a great time to get out and play tennis. And while many people have made the sport an integral part of their lives year round, only May actually bears the official designation “National Tennis Month.”

From kids programs featuring age- and size-appropriate courts and equipment, to league opportunities for adults, to Block Parties showcasing fun games and activities for the whole family, there is something for everyone during National Tennis Month.

This year, National Tennis Month is celebrating “moms” for all they do for the game of tennis. (Click here to see stories on tennis moms.)

Throughout May, the USTA will be hosting Tennis Block Parties across the country. Block Parties are a great way to introduce kids to the game and learn how tennis courts and equipment are sized just right for kids.

For players looking to jumpstart their tennis games after a long winter, improve fitness, or just have fun, Block Parties offer free instruction and engage players in a variety of activities for all ages and abilities. Find a Block Party in your community by clicking here. Block Party information will continue to be updated as more are scheduled.

Also in May, take advantage of a special USTA Family Membership offer.
