10 and Under Tennis for Tennis Retailers

News and Updates

Industry 1The 10 and Under Tennis initiative has the overall goal of increasing the number of new, young players and ensuring they start appropriately on the pathway to becoming frequent players and lifelong tennis consumers. The USTA is supporting this initiative with an unprecedented amount of national promotion and marketing is taking place to reach millions of new players and consumers and attract them to facilities and retailers.  Working with the USTA, the TIA has assumed a larger role in supporting the retail effort for the 10 and Under Tennis initiative.

What can you do right now? Register for this important initiative at TennisIndustry.org/Retail.

All retailers can be involved with the 10 and Under Tennis Initiative. All you need to do is sign up! You will receive a free kit from the USTA and TIA plus be kept up to date on future marketing and communications efforts on this very important initiative. In addition, those retailers who make a commitment to carrying 10 and Under Tennis equipment will have the added benefit of being listed on the 10 and Under Tennis website retail locator.

Here are some important updates for retailers about the initiative, along with developments on the USTA's 10andUnderTennis.com website.
  • First, You Need to Sign Up! Go to TennisIndustry.org to register. You will receive immediate access to download web banners, marketing materials, retail tips, and more—plus you will receive a free kit in the mail with the Parent's Guide to Tennis, a wall chart, postcards and hang-cards to help you attract more customers.
  • Retailers who also want to be listed on USTA's 10andUnderTennis.com need to carry a minimum of 36 total junior racquet models that cover the full range of racquet lengths—19", 21", 23" and 25" models—and also carry a minimum of 144 units of tennis balls (a mix of both stage 2 and stage 3 balls). The number of racquets of each length is up to the individual retailer, as long as all four lengths are carried.  Once confirmed, retailers will be added to the "Find A Retailer" locator that searches by city/state or ZIP code mile radius. Consumers will see a Google map display of the store location along with store information for consumers to contact. (At the 25-mile radius, if the search return doesn’t display any stores nearby, online stores will then also appear.)
  • Online dealers wanting to be listed on the 10 and Under Tennis website must carry the full line of 10 and Under Tennis product and place a dedicated 10 and Under Tennis web banner on their website's home page. Dedicated landing pages and banners must also be created for product for players ages 5 to 6, 7 to 8, 9 to 10, and 11+. In order to be listed, site changes must be submitted in advance to Retail@TennisIndustry.org and are subject to review and approval.
We appreciate your cooperation and support as we look to make 10 and Under Tennis a pathway to bring all of us in the industry the added players and consumers to help our sport and businesses grow!
