Application Review and Interviews
All applications will be reviewed by the TIA Nominating Committee, after which the Committee will extend interview invitations to selected candidates. Interviews may be in person or by conference call with the Committee and subject to current board term limits and timing.
TIA Board Members are expected to attend (at their expense) twice yearly Board of Directors meetings, usually held in the early Spring or late Summer during the US Open in New York City in late August or early September. Each TIA Board meeting generally lasts up to one half day. Board members also are expected to be available for conference calls and for various "committee" and "project team" work.
Characteristics of Successful Candidates
TIA Nominating Committee decisions are based on many factors. The Committee will be looking for candidates who can help advance the TIA's mission of promoting the growth of tennis and the economic vitality of the industry. This includes helping to shape the goals and priorities of the TIA and the industry, including increasing tennis participation and frequent play, increasing awareness and advocacy for tennis, and committing to a unified approach to the industry under one brand - TENNIS.
